One week faculty development program on ‘Internet of Things” which is to be organized by The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Punjabi University, Patiala was inaugurated at the Science Auditorium of Punjabi University, Patiala. Nearly 40 participants comprising teachers and research faculty from various institutes from across the region are participating in a week-long workshop. This course is being conducted in collaboration with NITTTR, Chandigarh.

Prof. G. S. Batra, Dean Academic Affairs, Punjabi University, Patiala presided over the inaugural session. Prof Batra threw light on the relevance of faculty development program in modern times. Dr. Mala Kalra from the department of CSE, NITTTR Chandigarh came for the expert talk.

Dr. Raman Maini, the patron of the program and head of the Computer Science and Engineering Department enumerated the achievements of the university as well as his department. He said 145 students of the department are placed in reputed MNC’s. Many companies are still to visit the campus for placement drive.He said that the department is going to establish AI and Data Science Lab, industry academia linkages and NBA accreditation in the near future.
